Disable the add-ins for the application and check the result,
Open the Office Application (Word-PowerPoint-Publisher-Etc.)
Click the File tab.
Go to Options.
Click Add-ins.
In the Manage section, select COM Add-ins and click on Go.
Now uncheck all add-ins except Acrobat and click on OK.
Close your application and open it again, if the application runs faster you should be fine at this point.
