How to fix Word 2016 issue where you are unable to type in a new blank document
· Open Word 2016
· Open a new blank document
· Go to File > Options
· In the General tab, Under Startup Options, UN-check “Show the Start screen when this application starts”
· Click OK
Word will now skip the welcome screen and go directly to a blank document.
